For small MPE of 10,000 meals at US$0.25 valued at US$2,500.00 or 10,000 meals for US$25,000.00, you can use a church hall.  This will be a very good start.  It also involves a church or churches to fight the sufferings of hunger worldwide.

If you can get donations in kind by Sept 2011, it will be a lot less!

The average volunteer packages approximately 300 meals in a two hour shift.

The approximately the number of  volunteers we need to do:-

·         10,000 meals is 35 volunteers in  2 hours.

·         50,000 meals is  85 working for 4hours - 2 shfts.

·         100,000 meals =  85 working for 8 hours -- 4 shifts.

·         1,000,000 meals =  845 volunteers working 8 hours.

35 people = 3-4 packaging lines.  The best way to think about it is that is takes 10 people to fill out each packaging line.

The more packaging lines (meaning more people) decreases packaging time.  For instance if you had 75 people packaging 10,000 meals it would only take 1 hour.  You can split the total number of people needed for a meal total in to multiple shifts (of 2 hours each).
